About Us

Developing Athletes. Building Teammates. Creating Opportunities.

Since 2004, Maryland Juniors Volleyball Club has helped young athletes grow through high-quality coaching, competitive opportunities, and a shared passion for volleyball. We are committed to developing confident players, supportive teammates, and successful student-athletes, both on and off the court.

Our Mission

Maryland Juniors Volleyball Club (MDJRS) is a non-profit community athletic organization under the leadership and governance of the Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association (CHRVA) and USA Volleyball (USAV).

MDJRS provides high-quality volleyball training and competitive opportunities for student-athletes ages 10–18 throughout the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas. Our mission is to promote the growth and development of junior volleyball while creating an environment where athletes can build strong fundamentals, develop confidence, and reach their full potential.

Through professional coaching, structured training programs, and competitive opportunities, Maryland Juniors prepares young athletes to succeed at the high school, collegiate, and lifelong levels of volleyball. Beyond developing volleyball skills, we are committed to teaching the values of teamwork, discipline, leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment that help student-athletes succeed both on and off the court.

Club Standard

Why Maryland Juniors?

Maryland Juniors Volleyball Club (MDJRS) is a non-profit organization founded by Club Director Xiangrong (Sean) Liu in 2004 with just three teams. Since then, MDJRS has grown into one of the largest and most respected elite volleyball training clubs in Maryland.

Our mission extends beyond providing opportunities to play volleyball. We are committed to developing well-rounded athletes through high-quality coaching, strong technical fundamentals, and purposeful training. By fostering a positive and competitive environment, Maryland Juniors provides each athlete with the guidance, support, and resources needed to build confidence, develop their skills, and reach their full potential both on and off the court.

We understand families have choices when selecting a club volleyball program. We also understand that club volleyball requires a significant commitment of time, energy, and financial resources. At Maryland Juniors, we are committed to exceeding expectations by creating an experience that is:

Dedicated Training Facility

Maryland Juniors operates its own dedicated 11-court practice facility, providing our teams with a consistent home for training and development.

Because we have our own facility, MDJRS teams have reliable access to quality practice space and never have to worry about losing valuable training time due to gym availability.

At Maryland Juniors, our goal is simple: to develop better volleyball players, stronger teammates, and successful student-athletes.

Serious Athletes

Maryland Juniors looks for athletes with strong volleyball skills, high potential, a positive attitude, and a commitment to improvement. Players are expected to dedicate 4–6 hours per week to training, compete in 2–3 tournaments per month, and maintain strong academic performance.

Serious Coaches

Our experienced coaching staff focuses on developing complete athletes through proper fundamentals, volleyball IQ, position-specific training, and competitive preparation. MDJRS coaches have trained athletes who have competed at the national, collegiate, and high school levels.

Serious Competition

Maryland Juniors teams compete throughout the club season, playing two to three tournaments a month against strong regional and national competition. Match play is where the training gets tested, and where our athletes learn to compete with confidence.
