Emily Ferketic

Emily Ferketic joins MDJRS bringing 14 years of playing experience and the perspective of a Division I athlete and proven leader. She competed at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where she helped the Retrievers win four consecutive America East Championships and make four NCAA D1 Tournament appearances.

During her career, Emily earned the Elite 18 Award for holding the highest GPA of any athlete in the conference championship and was named to the America East All-Academic Team multiple times. As a team captain, she was recognized for her leadership, resilience, and commitment to both personal and team growth.

Emily graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Physics and went on to earn her Master’s in Physics, all while competing at the Division I level. With her background, she understands the demands of balancing academics with athletics and is passionate about teaching her players how to succeed in both school and volleyball.

As a left-handed opposite hitter, Emily also brings unique insight to training players in that role and is especially excited to mentor other lefties learning the game. She focuses on developing strong fundamentals, confidence, and a lifelong love for volleyball.
