Garrett Ferguson

Coach Garrett brings over 26 years of volleyball experience to Maryland Juniors. This is his third season with the club, having served as the Head Coach for the 15 Black team during the 2024–2025 season.

Playing Career

• Began playing volleyball at age 11
• Three-year varsity starter at Frontier High School (2002–2004)
• Four-year starter with Eden and Powerstation Volleyball Clubs (2001–2005)
• First-year starter for the All-Army Volleyball Team (2014)

Accomplishments

• New York State Championship title as a Defensive Specialist (2002)
• ECIC Division I Second Team selection as a Setter (2003)
• Five-time All-Tournament Team honoree (2003–2004)
• ECIC Division I First Team selection as an Outside Hitter and Opposite (2004)
• Gold Medalist at the All-Armed Forces Championships as a Libero/Serving Specialist (2014)

Garrett began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach for Eden Volleyball Club’s 15-1 and 16-2 teams during the 2005–2006 season. He joined the U.S. Army in 2006 and, throughout his nine-year military career, played and coached in numerous adult leagues across the country and overseas. Over the past decade, he has remained actively involved in the sport, competing in a variety of indoor leagues and participating in beach and grass doubles tournaments.
